Details of the remastered Spyro games

After the teasers here are some details on the work going into remastering the first 3 Spyro games. personally I enjoyed the isometric games they released on the GBA so would be great to see a new game in that vain for the 3DS.

A New Spyro The Dragon Game??

Could it finally be Activision has decided to develop a new proper 3D platform game in the Spyro The Dragon series? Also looks to be the possibility of a Crash Bandicoot link up but I am not too sure how easy that would be to pull off.

MQA

Meridian's Bob Stuart has come up with what he believes is a much better way to encode to digital music without comprising on quality. MQA is not a new audio file format and MQA can encapsulated in many of the existing formatting used today. One of the clever tricks is the ability to press MQA encoded audio CD's which will work on any CD player but when if used in a system with an MQA decoder the extra information can be extracted from it. Norway to turn off FM radio in 2017

The end is now approaching for the good old FM radio which is a shame as it is reliable, universal and cheap but it is going to be replaced by digital transmission that no doubt will mean every 10 years your radio will be out of date due to a new codec being released :( some good old analouge has an advantage.

TThe Square Documentary

A well produced documentary showing the story of the uprising in Egypt covering the time from the start in 2011 upto 2013. It gives you an understanding of the real complexity of the uprising when mainstream media often paints it as a good vs evil situation between just two groups.

Microsoft Hololens

ooks like 2015 is going to be the year of VR but the AR that Microsoft has shown off looks much more interesting and useful for everyday and industry applications.

Amazon Opens Brick & Mortor Store -Kind Of

This is something that i have long predicted Amazon would do though i thought they would open more of destination than just a pickup point. It will be interesting to see how this works out and if just providing a pickup up point will prove economically viable or worth while doing long term.

Tech Predictions 2015

I always like to try and look ahead and guess the years teach trends and so my 5 preictions for 2015 are below
  • 1. New Apple TV with an official gaming controller to rival google and amazon. This is would be simple to do and developers would most likely quickly update esicting iOS game to take advantge of this.
  • 2. The end of free to play games. None of the new breed of free to play developers such as Zynga are making any money so i don't see how they can continue for ever without turning a profit add to that i think people will get tired of having to pay out for add-ons to games.
  • 3. Intel starts making ARM chips again for Apple. This has always seemed like a good idea and i don't know why both of them haven't done it so far. Apple could reduce the money it feeds Samsung and Intel would instantly gain huge market share in the mobile space but this all depends if Intel is to proud to admit x86 is just not good enough on performance per watt as ARM.
  • 4. Nintendo doesn't anounce any new hardwear. This is a bit of an anti prediction i suppose but with all talk and rumor of Nintendo releasing a new home console or some kind of combined portable and home console at E3 2015 im going to say it won't happen this year. Nintendo is a company that sticks to it's guns most of the time and if they can sqeeze out a bit of profit from the Wii U i think they will wait until 2017 before launching anything new.
  • 5. Colour Kindle eBook reader. Please please plese Amazon put that Liquavista purchase to use at last.

Hello World

So at long last the site is here! it's taken a while i know but they key to actually getting something up has been to forget about desiging the whole thing and pick and choose open source designs and templates to get it of the ground. Don't too excited though this will just be a dumping ground for news items, films, games and travel photos etc.
